OHS Training Duration by Risk Classification
Workplaces are categorized by risk level, and the duration of training depends on the risk class:
- Less Dangerous Class:
- Minimum of 8 hours of training, renewed every 3 years.
- Dangerous Class:
- Minimum of 12 hours of training, renewed every 2 years.
- Very Dangerous Class:
- Minimum of 16 hours of training, renewed every 1 year.
Once employees complete basic OHS training, they can work in any workplace as long as they are informed about the specific risks associated with the new job role. The employer is responsible for providing OHS training in accordance with workplace risk classification.
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
Upon successful completion of the Occupational Health and Safety training, employees will receive a certificate signed by the Occupational Safety Specialist, Workplace Doctor, and Employer. The certificate is added to the employee’s personnel files and serves as proof of compliance with OHS training requirements.
